Real Madrid agree £120m deal with Monaco for Mbappe move

Real Madrid has reportedly agreed to terms with Monaco over a world-record £120million move for Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe, 18, is one of the world's most sought-after strikers after bursting onto the scene in his debut season for Monaco last season.

The France international broke a host of records along the way as he scored 26 goals to help his side win the Ligue 1 title for the first time in 17 years.

His talents have not gone unnoticed which led to several clubs craving for his services aside Real Madrid who stands in a good position to sign the young forward other clubs such Arsenal, Barcelona, Liverpool and Chelsea also signified keen interest in securing his signature.

The France international revealed last month that Real Madrid has wanted to sign him since the age of 14.

The sale of Alvaro Morata and the possible departure of Danilo to Manchester City have also put the European Champion in a good position to sign him.

Morata’s departure has created space in the squad and free up some cash to pursue their target.

Real Madrid has £91.5m in the pipeline and is supposedly looking to use this to secure a £120m deal for Mbappe.

It is said that Los Blancos are confident of completing a move for him in the next two weeks.

Monaco has been playing hardball over his transfer as they are determined to keep him.

According to the Sun, the striker's desire to move to Bernabeu this summer, as well as the huge fee, has swayed their decision.

Real boss Zinedine Zidane heaped praise on the youngster by saying: “He’s a very good player. His talent at 18 years and his personality is very good.

“As a player, I like everything he showed last year. He’s not my player so I can’t say more.”

Real Madrid is currently in the United States where they are having their pre-season preparation. They are scheduled to face Manchester United and Barcelona as part of their pre-season games.
