Prof. Samuel Appointed As Acting Vice Chancellor Of Niger Delta University, NDU

PROF. SAMUEL EDOUMIEKUMO APPOINTED ACTING VICE CHANCELLOR OF NIGER DELTA UNIVERSITY, NDU

According to a government special announcement released by Daniel Iworiso Markson, the Chief Press Secretary to the Bayelsa State Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, Governor of Bayelsa State has approved the appointment of an Acting Vice Chancellor for the State owned Niger Delta University, NDU. He is Professor Samuel Gowon Edoumiekumo, who until his appointment was the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration of the institution. His appointment follows the expiration of the tenure of the former Vice-Chancellor, Professor Humprey Ogoni, which took effect on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.

Professor Edoumiekumo’s appointment as the Acting Vice-chancellor is in strict compliance with the tradition of the university system, which makes the deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of administration, until a substantive VC is appointed Born on the 30th of April, 1970, Prof. Edoumiekumo, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree, Master of Science Degree and two Doctor of Philosophy Degrees from the University of Port Harcourt and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in the field of Economics. He was the HOD, Department of Economics. He has also served as the Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences before becoming Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration.

The new appointment of Prof Samuel as Acting Vice Chancellor of NDU takes immediate effect from today.
