EPL: Iwobi scores as Arsenal go top

Nigerian international, Alex Iwobi, came off the bench to score in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Stoke City on Saturday.

The Gunners have tentatively gone tops in the Premier League having won the week 15 clash at the Emirates stadium.

Interestingly, it was Stoke that scored first in Saturday’s game.

Shortly after Arsenal lost Shkodran
Mustafi to injury, Granit Xhaka was
deemed to have brought down Joe Allen in the box, and Stoke took the lead from 12 yards through Charlie Adam.

And just before the interval, Theo Walcott got the equalizer, scoring his 50th goal at Emirates Stadium
In the second half, Mesut Ozil headed Arsenal in front before Iwobi put the Potters to the sword against the run of play for his first Premier League goal of the season -his second in two games following the midweek strike against Basel in the Champions League.

Arsenal go top on head to head pending the outcome of the fixture involving Chelsea and West Brom on Sunday.

In some of the other games played,
Stefano Okaka scored two goals as
Watford beat Everton 3-2.

Elsewhere, Victor Anichebe and his
Sunderland teammates were humbled 3-0 by Swansea City while Hull City and Crystal Palace played out a thrilling 3-3 draw.
