Communication according to Oxford advance learners' dictionary, edition eight, is an activity or process of expressing ideas and feelings or giving people information. Similarly, Cambridge advance learners' dictionary, the third edition submitted that, communication is the act o f communicating with people. However, communication is pivotal to maintain a healthy and smooth relationship with people. The art and science of communication is critically essential to master and manifest by every individual, chiefly to promote growth and establish connections.

In the same vein, relationship is fundamental to the existence of humanity. In that regard, English dictionary, 5.2.4 defined relationship as connection or association. This suggests that, for relationship to be effectual, there must be two or more individuals with mutuality. Meanwhile, there are various types of relationships; these include relationship by affinity, i.e, through marriage and by consanguinity, i.e, through blood. Also, there are other types of relationships that exists between humanities such as friendship relationships, platonic relationship (relationship without romance), and romantic relationships.

Furthermore, the impact of communication on human relationships cannot be overemphasized. Communications create ties between people. Through communication and association, connection is established between individuals, bond is formed, and memories are created. Moreover, communication helps to disseminate information and aid feelings' expressions. Communication promotes relationships, boost societal growth and development and strengthen friendships. Conversely, lack or inadequate communication exert adverse influence on human relationships, it crushes friendships and terminate connections.

In conclusion, the link between communication and relationship is causative. The efficacy of relationship is largely dependent on the flow of communications between parties involved. Lack or less communication damage relationships and end friendships as well. Communication builds intimacy and promotes societies. Also, it boost commerce and increase productivity if the art is well mastered and utilized. Contrarily, understanding that communication can mar or make you is also crucial. Consequently, before you vocalize, you'd review your words within ad-infinitum, and then communicate.
