THE WIFE OF THE GOVERNOR OF BAYELSA STATE DR.MRS.GLORIA DIRI MEETS WITH FEDERATED MULISM WOMEN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (FOMWAN) HARPS ON UNITY.
The hospitable disposition of the people of Bayelsa State towards a peaceful co- existence with other ethnic groups in Nigeria on Wednesday received further boost as the Wife of the Governor,Dr.Mrs.Gloria Diri met with the Federated Muslim Women Association of Nigeria, FOMWAN Bayelsa State Chapter.
Dr. Mrs Diri in her interaction with the women at the Banquet Hall,Government House,Yenagoa noted that love, peace and unity are veritable tools for the Socio-economic and political development of any nation.
According to her,inter religious conflicts arise when religious intolerance,ethnicity,nepotism override the common good and cordial relationship of people.
The wife of the Governor,maintained that God is Love, the Holy Bible and the Koran admonishes its faithful to emulate and replicate the love of God by living at peace with everyone.
She emphasized that the Prosperity Government led by Senator Douye Diri is poised to sustaining the already existing peace in the State.
The First Lady who promised to work with FOMWAN appreciated them for their prayers for the state also urged the Women to continue to preach the massage of peace and unity.
Earlier in her remarks,Chairperson FOMWAN, Hajia Mariam Abeki,described the meeting as first of its kind in the State and an impression of good things to come.
Hajia Abeki said inline with the mandate of FOMWAN and in fulfillment of their religious obligations,they will use the period of Ramadan Fast to pray for the nation,Bayelsa State and touch lives of the less privileged in society.
She expressed gratitude to the Wife of the Governor for the meeting and pledged the support and willingness of FOMWAN to ensure a peaceful Bayelsa.
Prayers were offered for the Government and people of Bayelsa State.
