7 Nigerian Artistes That Were Relevant In 2017 But Are Struggling This Year

Only musicians that can create consistency of excellence year-in-year-out are deserved to be called champions in the industry.
This post is not to ridicule the musical efforts of any artiste, it’s just to call our attention to the fact that some artistes who shook the industry last year, 2017 couldn’t keep up this year. Funny tho 😂😂
Below are top 7 Nigerian artistes who were buzzing last year with hit songs but are struggling to find relevance in 2018:-

1. Tekno

Last year, Tekno was a big star in the music industry with his releases like “Yawa“, “Samantha“, “Be” among other making hits.
You’d recall that, Tekno almost placed himself on the same level with Wizkid and Davido last year. It’s funny how he had to sample Danfo Driver’sKpolongo” in a bid to make big hit this year.
At the end of the day, the song still no hit 😂😂

2. Small Doctor

“Won ti gba penalty lo throwing” was Small Doctor’s last hit song. To be honest, the song served Omo Better all through last year.
His attempt to make his song “This Year” another big hit that will stand the test of time failed because it came out as a song enjoyable only during festive season.
It’s also quite unfortunate that his nursery school song, “Remember” could not make it to the top of the radar.
Omo better, Ki lo n sele??

3. Slimcase

“Rubilanshi, ta lo wo le to jade nsin?” ðŸ˜‚😂 It’s definately Slimcase himself. He came in big in 2017, but seems to be fading out gradually this 2018.

And as a matter of fact, nobody gives a damn about shaku-shaku again. Only if baba can adjust to industry changes, then he’s got hope.
Better still, he should stick to collaboration. Helping other artistes to add lambas to their songs won’t be a bad idea afterall.

4. Mr Real

“Legbegbe“ crooner, Mr Real is suffering the same faith as Slimcase but the only difference is that, Mr. Real has not made any tangible effort in terms of dropping a single to compliment his found fame in 2017. All we got is “Legbegbe Remix“.
Maybe, he will drop another song when another celebrity enter computer village to steal Apple Laptop.
“Oya, Macbook 1 legbegbe” 😂

5. Reekado Banks

Who else remembers when Reekado Banks said he is better than Lil Kesh’s papa?
He made the statement of pride all because he had like 3 hit songs last year, “Ladies & Gentlemen“, “Easy“ and “Like“.
Now, it’s 10 months into 2018, Reeky Baby has not made any remarkable hit. And we are feeling Lil Kesh already.
“Flenjo“ is bigger than “Bio Bio“, argue with your keypad.

6. Junior Boy

He is a product of meaningful collaboration but it’s quite unfortunate that he is finding it hard to keep up.
His last big hit was “Irapada” featuring 9ice. Obviously, he has what it takes to do more but only God knows what is holding him back from dropping another hit to continue is good music run.

7. Ycee

2017 was a fulfilled year for Ycee as “Juice“featuring Maleek Berry turned out to be one of the biggest songs in 2017.

This year, Ycee is totally off the radar as most of his songs this year didn’t even make it to limelight.
Probably Omo Alhaji should stop singing like a foreigner for now.
